Huia Sauvignon Blanc

Huia Sauvignon Blanc shows a good aromatic intensity with bright floral note of elderflower and lime blossom. The wine is layered with flavours ranging from guava, melon, gooseberry and lime zest.

Because a small percentage of the wine was aged in a little neutral oak, it has the complexity and softness to be a delicious match with food.

Seafood like fresh oysters, prawns, scallops, steamed mussels and marinated fish are a given but this little juicy number is a hit with seasonal asparagus and a wide variety of cheeses.

The rows of vines in this vineyard are planted at an unusual angle of 43 degrees northeast to south-west. Maritime climate. Slightly cooler than most of the Marlborough valley with a slower annual ripening period. Green capsicum with layers of freshly cut jalapeno and tropical passionfruit notes. A mineral and salty richness lead to a long lingering finish.

Saint Clair Barrique Sauvignon Blanc

A limited release Sauvignon Blanc fermented and aged in seasoned oak barriques.

Colour:
Pale gold.

Aroma:
Gooseberry and nashi pear characters seamlessly overlain with perfumed notes of sandalwood and gunflint.

Palate:
Luxurious, complex and textural with layers of roasted pear, nectarine and grapefruit with a hint of vanilla bean.

Ageing Potential:
A style of Sauvignon Blanc that has good ageing potential and will evolve in complexity and character over the next five years with careful cellaring.
